Choco Chocky Cupcakes

Hello!!! The receipe i'm going to share with you today is called Choco Chocky Cupcakes!!
They were a favourite amoung my classmates in secondary school, especially between Oviyum(chocolate lover), and my ex-partner in crime, Caroline. Ok now, enough with the talk! here's the receipe!!

Ingrediants:

- 100g/ 1 cup caster sugar

- 100g softened butter

- 100g/ 1 cup self-raising flour

- 3 tbs cocoa powder (might i recomend either Hersey's cocoa powder or Van Houten's cocoa powder)

- 2 eggs

-2 tbs milk

- 1/2 cup chocholate chips

Method:

1) Cream the butter and sugar using a hand held whisk or an elecric mixer.

2) Next add in the eggs, flour and cocoa powder and mix. Ensure that all the ingrediants are well incorparated.

3) Line a muffin tray with cupcake liners. Using an ice-cream scoop or any other laddle-like equiptment, half fill each cupcake liner with the cupcake batter.

4) Bake the cupcakes in the oven at 190 degree celcius fo 12-15 mins.

5) To check if the cakes are ready, insert a scewer/toothpic/satay stick into the baked cakes. The scewer should come out clean.

6) Allow the cupcakes to cool.

7) Indulge in its blissful taste.

I got this receipe from a book I bought from Bordes three years ago. It's called Cupcakes by Sue MacMahon. A really useful book. I modified the receipe a little, but I give you my word it tastes the same. Once you sink your teeth into the gooey, dense, chocolate cupcake, you'll find yourself closing your eyes, savouring every moment of eating it. You'll lick every morsel left on the cupcake liner.

When I made these Choco Chocky Cupcakes, i made a little too much batter. I decided to put the extra batter into a well greased cake tin and baked it for 15 mins at 180 degree celcius. I also whipped some cream using an electric machine, but you can do likewise using a hand whisk. I on the other hand, prefer to utillize the technology I have acquired, thank you very much. I even dazzled the choco cakes with a some heart-shaped sprinkles. All of the ingredants listed are readily available at any super market.

Well then, I hope that you do try this receipe out. It really is very rewarding. Cheerios!! :)

A couple more pictures with a new receipe!

HEY ALL...sry i haven't been updating for so long. i've been so busy lately that i havent been able to bake recently. to make up for that, i'll start by giving you a basic cookie dough receipe. I made this some time back when i was still experimenting with different cookie dough receipes. here's the receipe, hope that you love the cookies and enjoy the baking process! Cheerios!! :)

Ingrediants:
-225g softened butter
-110g caster sugar
-1 egg
-1 tps vanilla essence/extract
-275g plain flour
-1/2 cup of chocolate chips(optional)
[ you may use other substitutes like chopped walnuts/pecans]

Method:

1) Firsly, cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl, using a hand whisk or an electric mixer, until light and fluffy.
2)Then, add the egg and mix well.

3)Next, add in the flour and vanilla essence/extract. make sure you mix the mixture well.
4)You may now add chocolate chips if prefered. Fold in the chocolate chips with a rubber spatula.
5) Grease a baking tray well or line it with baking parchment or a silicone mat.
6)Using two rounded tablespoons, scoop the dough, which should be pliable, and place it on the baking tray. Make sure each scoop of dough is spaced out fairly to allow it to expand while baking. [refer to picture]
7)Bake the cookies for 10-12 mins, in an oven of temperature 170 degree celcius.
8) Once baked, allow cookies to cool before transfering them to a wire rack.

Do make sure you do not allow those icky impatient fingers to grab the cookie while it's still cooling. the cookie will crumble if picked up while it's still hot.

HELLO!

Hi......this is my first blog....well it's about as you can guess my baking obsession. I will be posting up receipes of many mouth-watering, uber delicious desserts along with pictures of the baking process on this blog. The main purpose of this blog, is to share my baking experience along with my collection of great receipes.

Have you ever glanced through a magazine or a cook book, or even watched a cooking show for that matter, to find that one delicious piece of heavenly dessert that you just want to make. You find the receipe, your're overjoyed but alas! The receipe tells you, you need 2 sticks of butter or 4 ounces of confectionary sugar. You wonder in dismay, how your're going to convert sticks and ounces to cups or grams---or even fahrenheit to celsius??? Fear no more!!! My receipes include measurements in grams and cups, fahrenheit and celsius. You will no longer find baking a chore. It, I assure you, will make you find any excuse to get into the kitchen to bake. So get your tools and apron ready...and let's get started!! :)
